Lake Tahoe Ski Season

Lake Tahoe Ski resorts open mid November and remain open until end of April, several resorts such as Alpine Meadows remaining open as late as May. Unique perks are offered throughout each part of the ski season in Tahoe ranging from affordability to supreme conditions. The beginning of the ski season offers excellent prices due to the decreased activity on the slopes as the kids head back to school. December through February brings peak ski season with an abundance of powdery snow and average high temperatures in the low 40s beckoning avid winter thrill seekers to hit the slopes. Once spring rolls around and the crowds are transitioning from the slopes to Tahoe’s glorious beaches, prices and crowds decrease on the slopes with fantastic temperatures averaging from the low 60’s to the high 40’s, with an abundance of snow left for prime skiing without the blistering cold. Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Squaw Valley and Tahoe Doner are just a few of the numerous resorts to chose from in glorious Lake Tahoe.
